Mother Teresa is a human being par excellence. Mother Teresa was born in the year 1910 for an Albanian Parents. When she was 12 years old she was totally attracted to Gods miracles and had in mind that she has to serve the humankind to spread the love of Jesus as much as she can in the planet earth. During her 18th birthday she migrated from her hometown Skopje to India. In India she joined with the sisters of Loreto an Irish community of nuns with mission in India. She took her new task of nun in the year 1931. She was also worked as a teacher in the St.Mary’s school in Calcutta from 1931 to 1948.
She used to see the sufferings of the poor people who are leading their life in the streets outside the St.Mary’s school in Calcutta which made her to decide that she has to support these poor people, weaker section of society for the rest of her life. Later in the year 1948 she resigned her task of a school teacher and decided to dedicate her life to support the poorest of the poor and spread the love of Christ for the rest of her life.
Mother Teresa was totally depending on the income from the divine providence to support her Nobel cause of helping the poor. Later she started teaching to the slum children in Calcutta in a school which had no buildings and class room’s, it was just an open air school. Many people who saw her dedication to work and her helping tendency to poor people started joining her mission and slowly she got good financial help from the white collar people.
Mother Teresa started the missionary of charity in the year 1950 when she was
40 years old and the main goal of this missionary was to love and care for those people who had nobody to look after.
Mother Teresa is a classic example of a human being who dedicated her entire life to the economically down trodden people and had such humility that no else would have. She received various awards like pope john xxiii peace prize in the year 1971 and Nehru prize for international peace and Nobel Prize for serving mankind and she also won Templeton award and Megasasay award for her contribution towards the improvement of poor people and service to the mankind.
Even after her demise her Institution – Missionary of charities continue to do the activities of helping the poorest of the poor till date in Calcutta and also in other places of the country. By this way they believe that she is still living in the hearts of the poor people even after her death.
