Indian Nobel Laureates

Nobel Prize is given to Individuals who out class in performance and who does extra ordinary work and achieve milestones which are regarded as a milestone in history in the field in which they are chosen from. Some of the Indians who have won Nobel Prize and added glory to Our Nation in the world stage are

1. Mr.Rabindranath Tagore 1913 – for Literature
2. Mr.Chandrashekar Venkata Raman 1930 [ C.V.Raman}
3. Mother Teresa – for Service to Mankind.
4. Mr.Subramanian Chandrashekar 1983 – for Physics
5. Mr.Amartya Sen – 1998 – For Economics

All these indians won nobel prize in various fields and made Indian’s proud in the global platform. Mr.rabindranath tagore who was popularly known as Gurudev, won Nobel Prize for his work Geetanjali in the year 1913. He was regarded as the most famous writer and poet during that period. His work Geetanjali is a collection of poems which was so good that it earned him the Nobel Prize. Rabindranath Tagore was also working as a teacher during these years. He is the author of our countries national anthem.

Chandrashekar Venkata Raman also called as C.V.Raman was born at Tamilnadu State, Tiruvanaikaval village, and studied at Madras. He was working as a Physics Proffessor at a Calcutta university. He was doing research study in the field of optics (light) and his findings earned him Nobel prize in the year 1930 for Optics. C.V.Raman’s invention was that the diffused light contained rays of other wave lengths. This is now called as Raman’s effect and is the answer for the question why the frequency of light passing through a transparent medium changes.

Like the people mentioned above there are people who are doing exemplary work in their chosen field and let us hope that more Nobel Prize winners add glory to our nation in the world stage in the years to come.
